Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 was announced back in May 2023. After which we got to see some new trailers and behind-the-scenes videos. In the BTS video that was posted on Remedy’s official YouTube channel, We got a lot of glimpses and sneak peeks at how the game will turn out. Let’s dive into more details.
Firstly, We got to know that the game will have two playable protagonists. First is the writer himself. The other is a new character that will be introduced in the series via Alan Wake 2. The second protagonist is Saga Anderson.
Saga Anderson
Anderson is an FBI agent who arrives in Bright Falls to investigate strange murders that are occurring, which also takes her into the town of Watery. From what we know so far, Saga is quite famous amongst her FBI peers for being able to solve some of the most difficult cases.
She is also joined by another FBI agent named Alex Casey. Together they are on a mission to solve the mystery of the town once in for all, Will they succeed? We’ll have to find that out for ourselves.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Alan Wake 2 will be similar to the first game, which was a third-person shooter. Players will use light and different weapons to fight off the dark forces as well as various cult members.
However, one thing that is different from the previous game is that the gameplay will be more survival-horror instead of action-adventure like in the previous game. Players will also have an inventory with limited space, where they will need to use their ammo and healing items wisely.
We can really notice this difference from all the trailers and footage that have been revealed. This change of genre promises a gameplay that is full of adrenalin.
Campaign Mode
Alan Wake 2 will have two completely different story modes. One in which you’ll be able to play as the writer and in the other you’ll take on the role of the FBI agent, Saga Anderson. You’ll be able to switch between the characters anytime in the game. This introduction of two different perspectives will definitely give you a better grasp of the story.
Anderson’s story takes place in the Northwest, in three hubs more specifically: the town of Bright Falls, the forest surrounding the mysterious Cauldron Lake, and the town of Watery. Alan’s story will take place exclusively within the Dark Place, with his reality shifting and looping.
