Marvel Comics announced some Avengers news at the New York Comic Con. And they are bringing a new event mini-series to the fans, written by Chip Zdarsky and featuring art by Daniel Acuña.
Marvel’s Future Revealed
Avengers: Twilight is set to reveal a fresh glimpse of the Marvel universe’s future. The trailer presented at NYCC provides a sneak peek of what’s in store. The first issue is scheduled for release on January 16, 2024. And it will depict an elder Captain America residing in an America that no longer supports the Avengers.
“Avengers: Twilight” depicts a story in a bright new world filled with wealth. In this world, Steve Rogers still exists. But Captain America no longer does. He navigates an America where freedom is just a mirage. And the Avengers remain unknown while his friends have long passed away.
The mini-series poses the question, “How can you form a team of Avengers in a world that doesn’t want them?” What does Zdarsky have in store for Marvel’s greatest superheroes in the future? The trailer implies that Iron Man and some other Avengers have met their demise. If they form a new team, who will be a part of it?
New Avengers Unite
We catch a glimpse of Kamala Khan and Luke Cage. So they might step up and join the team alongside Steve Rogers. This universe appears quite different from what we’re used to. At some point, Steve became ‘Senator Rogers’ and took a role in the American government. What led him to make that decision. And did he leave his superhero role willingly?
Chip Zdarsky, a writer who’s won awards, has written big stories for Marvel and had success with Image Comics. Daniel Acuña, who has worked on X-Men, Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man comics before, has this comic series in good hands.
