PlayStation 5 was released at the end of 2020. The hype surrounding this console was next level, and it was impossible to get it in the first week of the release. The Sony console was not less than any gold. The same hype is expected from the upcoming console as well.
PlayStation 6 coming soon?
Although we haven’t got the official release date of the console yet, a date has surfaced online. Some fans also think that it’s too early for the next-gen console. Posted to @r/GamingLeaksandRumours, one person has shared that the PS6 may be released in 2028 or later according to PlayStation LifeStyle. This rumor was courtesy of an article by Insider-Gaming’s Tom Henderson, who “understands that the next generation of the PlayStation, the PS6, is unlikely to release until at least 2028.” However, similarly, a rumor from a Sony document claimed the PS6 might be launched after 2027. So now we know if all that is true, then we might get PS5 Pro in early 2024. PS6 will launch sometime in 2028 or later.
Fans’ reactions to the launch news
Fans gave mixed reactions to the news, although most of them were not happy. A Reddit user said, “Are people really that excited to jump at a new console gen already in a few years when the PS5 1) already struggles with getting titles, 2) new games are taking longer and longer to release, and 3) the increase in quality of these consoles is getting smaller and smaller?” Further, they said, “And sure, the PS5 might get some actual games by the time 2026-2027 rolls around, but are you really going to want to repeat the process with the PS6 and wait for the last two years of the console’s life for it to start receiving actual content?”.
Please note that the release date of the PS6 is still a rumor, and we don’t have any official information about it yet.
