Rockstar Games officially revealed the release year for GTA 6, which is 2025. For now, we have a trailer drop, and nothing more. However, on the internet, many so-called GTA 6 pre-orders have surfaced online.
The developer has made it clear that the official launch of the game will not happen before 2025. However, an alarming pattern has surfaced. Enthusiastic fans are falling victim to deceptive tactics involving counterfeit versions of GTA 6. These fraudulent activities are spreading across multiple platforms, with YouTube being a prime example, where bogus alpha versions of the game are being promoted.
People have spotted YouTube ads that are promoting a so-called GTA 6 alpha version. These ads deceitfully use the Rockstar Games logo and a “play now” call-to-action, intending to trick unsuspecting users, especially the young and the elderly.
Moreover, YouTube is not the only place where the scammers are active. An online marketplace G2A, infamous for its controversial selling practices, is reportedly selling GTA 6 for an outrageous $222.
Ironically, the fake game is listed for “PC” when Rockstar Games declared the game only for consoles in 2025.
