Assassin’s Creed Japan is the next open-world game from Ubisoft in the Assassin’s Creed series. The game is expected to launch later this year, but Ubisoft has not revealed the exact release date or the gameplay yet. The game will take place in Feudal Japan, a new setting for the series that has excited fans.
As with any upcoming AAA game, there are many rumors and leaks about the game. One of them claims to have some information about the game’s story mode and the supernatural aspects of the game. Let’s check out the new leaks below.
Two Protagonists mean double Spice!
According to the leak, the game will have two protagonists, a male samurai, and a female shinobi. The samurai is based on a real historical figure, and the shinobi is an original character. The game will be divided 60/40 between them.
The interesting thing is that the leak says that stealth and combat will be divided among these protagonists. Samurai covering combat, while the Shinobi handling the stealth. It is somewhat interesting how they are deciding to give 2 different types of gameplay.
In the story, both protagonists may even connect, which will make it even more spicier. By the way, the leak also suggests a DLC for the female character.
Now let’s move to the second leak. For the players of Assassin’s Creed’s recent titles, they must know that the franchise has been exploring the supernatural side lately. Well, the new upcoming game may not be different.
The leak suggests we may see supernatural things happening in Codename Red. It will reportedly have yokai, which are Japanese spirits that can have different shapes and powers.
Assassin’s Creed games have recently incorporated more folklore and mythology elements, such as supernatural creatures and monsters in their story/DLC. And well, it seems like the developer is going to follow a similar path with the upcoming release.
When to expect the game?
In one of our previous articles, we wrote that the developer is planning to release the game by March 31, 2025. This news came from the financial reports of Ubisoft. With this information, we can assume that the game may launch later this year or early 2025.
Talking about the leak, it should be taken with a pinch of salt unless Ubisoft confirms it. Until then, keep following NerdLAD to be updated with the latest news.
